Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

What is MightE?

MightE is an electric karting platform for junior drivers that replaces the traditional petrol engine with a standardised electric powertrain. All drivers in a MightE class run the same power, creating fair, skill-led racing.

MightE is building a complete electric karting pathway, supporting drivers as they progress through the sport.

What classes does MightE cover?

MightE currently supports and is developing a clear progression pathway:

  • Bambino

  • Cadet

  • Inter Cadet

Work is underway to expand into:

  • Junior

  • Senior

The aim is to allow drivers to progress through karting using the same core electric philosophy as they develop.

Is MightE “real” racing?

Yes. MightE drivers compete in proper karting events alongside other classes, including:

  • Club rounds

  • Regional events

  • National championships

This is not arrive-and-drive entertainment — it is structured, competitive racing.

Getting Started

My child is new to karting — can we still do this?

Yes. Many MightE families start with no prior karting experience.

You do not need motorsport knowledge as a parent. MightE is designed to remove unnecessary complexity and support families at every stage.

What age can my child start?

Karting typically starts from age 6+, depending on class and championship.

We’ll help identify whether Bambino or Cadet is the right starting point based on age and experience.

Do we need to commit to a full season?

No. Families can:

  • Start with an Academy experience or demo

  • Enter selected rounds

  • Start mid-season

  • Progress at their own pace

There is no requirement to commit upfront.

Trying MightE: Academy or Demo?

What does “Try a MightE Kart” mean?

It means experiencing electric karting in one of two ways, depending on your background and equipment.

Most families start through the Kart Academy, but Owner-Driver demos are also available.

What is the Kart Academy?

The Kart Academy is designed for families who are new to karting.

It typically includes:

  • Kart and equipment provided

  • A structured, supported environment

  • A simple introduction to racing

This is the most common and accessible way to start.

What is a Demo?

A demo is for owner-drivers who already have a kart and personal equipment.

  • You bring your own kart

  • The kart is fitted with a MightE powertrain

  • The aim is to experience MightE within an owner-driver setup

Demos are not suitable for complete beginners without equipment.

Is either option a sales pitch?

No.

Both the Academy and demo routes are designed to help families understand the experience, not force a purchase or commitment.

Are Academy days and demos always available?

Availability is subject to scheduling and capacity.

Sessions are typically run alongside:

  • Race weekends

  • Test days

  • Organised Academy events

Seasonality and circuit access apply.

Equipment & Preparation

What equipment does my child need?

This depends on the route:

Kart Academy

  • Most equipment is provided

Owner-Driver / Demo

  • Helmet

  • Race suit

  • Gloves

  • Boots

  • Rib protector

All requirements are explained clearly before any session.

Do parents need to be mechanics?

No.

Karting will always involve learning:

  • Basic kart setup

  • Racing lines

  • Driver technique

However, MightE removes the need to manage engines, tuning, rebuilds, or engine performance parity.

This significantly lowers the barrier to entry.

Racing & Progression

Where can MightE drivers race?

MightE drivers can compete in:

  • Club rounds

  • Regional events

  • National championships

This allows families to build experience gradually.

Do we have to race nationally?

No. National championships are an option, not a requirement.

Many families choose to remain at club or regional level.

Can drivers progress through classes with MightE?

Yes. MightE is being built as a long-term pathway, allowing drivers to progress through classes while staying within the same electric ecosystem.

Costs & Fairness

Is MightE cheaper than petrol karting?

Costs vary, but electric karting removes many engine-related uncertainties, such as:

  • Rebuild cycles

  • Performance drop-off

  • Tuning costs

This makes costs clearer and more predictable, particularly for new families.

Is the racing really fair?

Yes. All MightE drivers use the same powertrain with equal performance.

Results are driven by driver skill, not spending power.

Environment & Community

What is the paddock environment like?

MightE races alongside petrol classes in real karting paddocks, so the environment reflects proper motorsport.

What sets MightE apart is the welcoming and supportive community around the class.

Will we get support as a new family?

Yes. New families are supported by both the MightE team and the wider MightE community.

You are not expected to figure things out on your own.
